Publishing Ethics

Policy and Ethics: The author, in his/her cover letter, must declare that the work reported in the manuscript was performed according to the national and international institutional rules concerning animal experiments, clinical studies, and biodiversity rights. The importance of the study should also be provided in the cover letter. Authors should submit data that have arisen from animal and human studies conducted in an ethically-guided manner by following the guidelines set up by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Authors submitting papers are advised to read online WIPO and WHO guidelines on these subjects. Authors should make sure that they have acquired appropriate "prior informed consent" (PIC) of patients or volunteers used in their clinical studies. This means that the onus is on the authors, and not on the journal, regarding this important ethical issue. Moreover, authors should state this as a part of the article before the references list (See author's guidelines). Papers that violate these ethical principles will neither be accepted nor considered for publication in the BPRMCS.

Author contributions: Each author should state his/her contribution to the article.

Declaration of conflict of interest: Authors must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest, including any financial, personal, or other relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence, or be perceived to influence their work.

Conflict of Interest disclosure is required for all manuscripts and will be published. It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that all co-authors adhere to this policy.

Submission declaration and verification: Manuscript submission implies that the work has neither been published previously nor is under consideration for publication elsewhere; that its publication is approved by all authors, and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out; and that if accepted for publication in the BPRMCS, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or any other language, including electronically, without the written consent of the copyright holder. To verify originality, your article will be checked by the journal’s originality detection service, Crosscheck (http://www.ithenticate.com).

Publication Ethics Statement: For all parties involved in the process of publishing (Authors, Editorial Board, and Reviewers), it is necessary to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior. To guarantee high ethical standards,  the BPRMCS has developed international standards for all parties.  BPRMCS expects all the parties to commit to these standards.

International Standards for Authors:

 BPRMCS does not require all authors of a research paper to sign a letter of submission, nor does it impose an order on the list of authors. All authors who submit to  BPRMCS are expected to observe the international standards for authors voluntarily.  BPRMCS adheres to International Standards for Authors developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics and encourages all authors to refer to these standards.

• Authors must certify that their manuscripts are their original work. Plagiarism, duplicating, Data Fabrication and Falsification, and Redundant Publications are forbidden. 
• Authors must certify that the manuscript has not previously been published and is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere. 
• If the authors have used the work and/or words of others, the authors must ensure that the work and/or words of others are appropriately cited or quoted and identify all sources used in the creation of their manuscripts. 
• When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her published work, the author must promptly notify the Journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
• Authors must notify  BPRMCS of any conflicts of interest.
• Authors must ensure the confidentiality and anonymity of the participants while collecting, analyzing, and reporting data.
• Authors must ensure that all participants in their study have given informed consent for publication.
• According to the WMA Declaration of Helsinki – Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects, “Some groups and individuals are particularly vulnerable and may have an increased likelihood of being wronged or of incurring additional harm. All vulnerable groups and individuals should receive specifically considered protection”. 
• Accordingly, authors must consider issues arising from working with potentially vulnerable people and must address how such risks to these participants are minimized and how they are protected from risks.

International Standards for Editorial Board:

Editors and the Editorial Board are required to follow the international standards for the Editorial Board:

• The Editorial Board must keep information about all submitted manuscripts confidential. 
• The Editorial Board is responsible for making publication decisions for submitted manuscripts. 
• The Editorial Board must strive to meet the needs of readers and authors. 
• The Editorial Board must evaluate manuscripts only for their intellectual content. 
• The Editorial Board must strive to constantly improve the BPRMCS’s quality. 
• The Editorial Board must maintain the integrity of the academic record. 
• The Editorial Board must disclose any conflicts of interest and preclude business needs from compromising intellectual and ethical standards. 
• The Editorial Board must always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when needed.

International Standards for Reviewers:

Reviewers of  BPRMCS are also expected to meet international standards for reviewers when they accept review invitations.

• Reviewers must keep information about the manuscript confidential. 
• Reviewers must bring to the attention of the Editor Board any information that may be a reason to reject the publication of a manuscript. 
• Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts only for their intellectual content. 
• Reviewers must objectively evaluate the manuscripts based only on their originality, significance, and relevance to the domains of the journal. 
• Reviewers must notify the BPRMCS about any conflicts of interest.

Informed Consent Policy

Author(s) should comply with the following conditions to meet ethical and legal standards for work with human subjects:

Participants in your research should be informed that

• You will be conducting research in which they will be the participants or that you would like to write about them for publication.

Participants in your research should be informed about

• The purpose of your research and the procedure you will follow in the research.
• Contact information so that they can reach you for answers to questions regarding the research.
• Any foreseeable risks and discomforts involved in agreeing to cooperate.
• Any possible direct benefits of participating (e.g., receiving a copy of the article or chapter).
• Participants in your research should be informed if and how their confidentiality will be protected.
